☀️What you see here is actually an ancient windmill or Asbād in Persian.
Throughout the year strong northern winds are blowing in the eastern parts of Iran, especially in South Khorasan and Sistan provinces. Even during spring and summer - when there is no wind in other parts of Iran - these parts are affected by so called “120 days winds” or “black winds”. That’s why thousands of years ago the people of Sistan became masters in using the wind power for grinding grains, chopping sugarcanes and even for operation of water pumps.
